Genetic Determinants of Periosteum Mediated Craniofacial Bone Regeneration: A Systematic Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Periosteum-mediated bone regeneration (PMBR) is a known mandibular reconstruction. Though poorly understood and unpredictable, the concerns of developmental changes to donor recipient tissues shared by other treatment options appear nonexistent. The definitive role periosteum during in any mammal remains understood.
Objective: To characterise genetic determinants PMBR mammals through systematic review.
Methods: Our search methodology was modeled after PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review Meta-Analysis) guidelines. quality assessment each publication undertaken differences gene expression at time points weeks 1 2 were appraised
Results: A total 4 studies met inclusion criteria. study subjects studied 3 rat calvaria calf transplanted on mice. One out had score requisite ≥3. results showed an upregulation genes responsible angiogenesis, cytokine activities, immune-inflammatory response week-1, skeletal development signaling pathways, week-2
Conclusion: suggest that morphogenesis regulated pathways may patterns PMBR

Regeneration of Periosteum in Denuded Bone
Fig. 1. Schematic of one-stage bone-transport procedure (yellow – bone, red – periosteum). A portion of diaphyseal bone is denuded of periosteum, osteotomized, and transported over an intramedullary nail to the site of the 2.54-cm critical-sized defect, where it is docked to the distal femur. The periosteal sheath is left in situ to surround the new defect site, leading to full infilling of the...
متن کاملGuided bone regeneration: A literature review
Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a reconstructive procedure of alveolar ridge using membranes. This procedure is indicated when there is no sufficient bone for implantation, or in the case of optimal implant installation for esthetic or functional needs. GBR can be performed before implant placement, when there is not enough bone for initial stability of implants and less predictable outcomes ...
متن کاملRole of Polylactic Acid in Bone Regeneration –A Systematic Review
Bone regeneration is a complex, physiological process of bone formation, which can be seen during normal fracture healing, and is involved in continuous remodeling throughout adult life. However, there are complex clinical conditions in which bone regeneration is required in large quantity, such as for skeletal reconstruction of large bone defects created by trauma, infection, tumor resection a...
متن کاملBone repair cells for craniofacial regeneration.
Reconstruction of complex craniofacial deformities is a clinical challenge in situations of injury, congenital defects or disease. The use of cell-based therapies represents one of the most advanced methods for enhancing the regenerative response for craniofacial wound healing. Both somatic and stem cells have been adopted in the treatment of complex osseous defects and advances have been made ...
متن کاملGenetics of Pediatric Bone Tumors: a Systematic Review
Background: Understanding the differences in genetics of malignancies is crucial for therapeutic decisions. This systematic review was conducted to evaluate the current evidence on genetics of bone tumors in the context of pediatric cancer. Material and Methods: We performed a systematic review of the literature published on genetics of pediatrics bone tumors, using PubMed, Google scholar,...
